1kg beef chunks (2 lbs)
2tbsp calamansi or lemon juice
1/3cup soy sauce or 12 tbsp.
2tbsp oyster sauce
freshly ground black pepper
Other ingredients
2potatoes, quartered
1large carrot, sliced diagonally
3bay leaves
1medium onion, diced
6cloves garlic, minced
2tomatoes, seeded & diced (optional)
1tbsp fish sauce (for umami)
1cup tomato sauce
3tbsp tomato paste (for richness)
3 to 4cup water or beef broth
1beef broth cubes
2red bell pepper, sliced or cubed
salt & pepper to taste
1tbsp sugar or to taste
