1thumb-sized ginger (peeled and sliced)
1stalk scallions (sliced)
2tbsp cooking oil
1/2cup water
Marinade
1tbsp cornstarch
2tbsp water (for cornstarch mixture)
1tbsp oyster sauce
2tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp cooking wine
2tbsp water
1/4tsp pepper powder
1tsp white sugar
Sauce
1tbsp cornstarch
1tbsp oyster sauce
1tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp water
1tbsp cooking wine
sugar and pepper powder to taste
Optional
2tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1tsp sesame oil
Instructions
1
Prepare the beef by cutting it against the grain into medium slices. Wash and strain the blood out of the meat.
2
In a large mixing bowl, make the marinade sauce. Combine oyster sauce, soy sauce, cooking wine, pepper powder, sugar and pour the cornstarch mixture. Mix well.
3
Add the beef to the marinade sauce. Soak and then massage with the marinade. Set it aside for at least 30 minutes.
4
While waiting for the beef meat to set, wash and cut the broccoli into bite-size pieces, slice the ginger and scallions, and mince the garlic cloves.
5
In a separate bowl, prepare the sauce. Combine the oyster sauce, soy sauce, cooking wine, sugar, cornstarch, water, and pepper powder. Stir well.
6
Blanch or steam the broccoli. Boil enough water in a pot. Cook the broccoli for 2 minutes, or until soft and crisp. Once cooked, drain it.
7
Before cooking the beef, add 1 tbsp. of cooking oil to the marinated beef and mix.
8
In a wok, pre-heat 2 tbsp. of cooking oil and swirl it around. Put the meat in and cook the beef for about 60 seconds. Or when it turns brown before you flip it and cook the other side. When it's cooked, take the meat out of the wok. Set aside.
9
In the same wok, add the cooking oil as needed. Saute the minced ginger, garlic, and onion until aromatic and soft.
10
Put the beef back in the pan and saute. Then add ½ cup of water to tenderize the meat.
11
Cook everything together and simmer it over low heat for 10 minutes or until it is cooked.
12
Add the broccoli and the scallions.
13
Add the sauce mixture, stir-fry, and constantly mix for about a minute. Then spray sesame oil on it. It will make it look very appetizing.
14
Taste and adjust the flavor as necessary according to your preference.
15
All done, share and enjoy eating!
