Description
Coca-Cola Chicken Wings Recipe: On the stovetop, create savory and sweet glazed BBQ-style wings by adding Coca-Cola soda drinks to the ingredients. This dish is so delectable and perfect for gatherings or even a regular meal. These wings are tender, juicy, and coated with a sticky, glossy sauce, just like BBQ wings.
The dish is so similar to Filipino adobo, but the taste is more closely related to the humba recipe because of its extra sweetness. This is a must-try recipe to prepare at home. No doubt, everyone will love this chicken dish.
Ingredients
12 Chicken wings (patted dry with a paper towel)
4tbsp Soy sauce
1small can Coca-Cola drinks
3tbsp Shaoxing wine
1thumb-sized Ginger (minced)
5clove Garlic (minced)
3tbsp Cooking oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish with chopped green onions or toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Red chili or chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat.
Pan-fry the chicken wings without overlapping them. Allow to cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the bottom side turns brown. Cook the wings on the opposite side until golden brown.
Take the wings out of the pan and set them aside for a while.
On the same pan, saute the ginger and garlic until light brown and aromatic.
Pour in the Shaoxing wine and soy sauce, stir, and then add the Coca-Cola. Stir and bring to a gentle boil.
Add the pan-fried chicken wings. Stir a few times to coat with the sauce.
Lower the heat and cook the chicken for 20 minutes. Flip the wings occasionally, as needed.
Note: Check on the sauce often because it will start to thicken very quickly.
When the sauce is about to thicken, season with salt and pepper to taste.
Set the heat to low and toss the wings to coat them well with the sauce.
Turn off the heat and transfer the wings to a serving dish.
Garnish and serve it hot as a main dish.
Note: If you want to make the dish spicy, add chopped red chilies or a teaspoon of chili flakes.
It is best eaten with a bowl of steaming rice. Share and enjoy the food. Happy cooking!
