500g Sitaw or string beans
300g Pork belly (strips)
6clove Garlic
1medium Red onion
1tbsp Chicken powder
1tbsp Sugar
3tbsp Soy sauce
1/4cup Water
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Slurry (1 tbsp. cornstarch + 2 tbsp. water)
Chili flakes, fresh chili or dried chili (optional)
2tbsp Cooking oil
Instructions
Preparation:
Slice the pork belly into strips and pieces.
Prepare the spices needed for the recipe.
Cooking:
In a skillet or wok, heat oil over a medium-low flame. Then add the pork strips and saute until the color changes to a light golden brown and the fat renders.
Add the onion and saute for a few seconds, then add the garlic and saute until aromatic.
Add chicken powder and keep sauteing until the seasonings are well distributed.
Add the sitaw (string beans). Add soy sauce, keep stirring, and saute for 3 minutes.
Add a half cup of water and stir. Lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, covered.
Add sugar, salt, and pepper to taste, and stir. Adjust the taste as necessary.
Add the slurry mixture and stir until the sauce is slightly thick. Transfer to the serving dish and serve hot.
