Ingredients
1kg beef sirloin (cubed)
1large onion (quartered)
1tsp peppercorn
1bch pechay (cut into 3 inch long)
1 cabbage (cored and roughly cut or quartered)
5ripe saba bananas (cut into 4 pieces)
2medium potatoes (quartered, optional)
1 corn on the cob (cut into 4 pieces)
1stalk spring onions (cut to 2 inch long pieces)
2cup beef broth or stock
6cup water
salt (as needed)
pepper (to taste)
Instructions
Preparation:
Cut the beef sirloin into 2 inch cubes.
Collect the vegetables and spices, peel, and cut into preferred sizes.
Cooking:
Place the beef in a large cooking pot and add water. Turn on the heat and bring the liquid to a boil over high heat.
Add the onion and peppercorns. Cover the pot with a lid and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook for 20 minutes, then add the beef broth.
Note: If beef broth or stock is not available, please substitute it with 2 cups of water and add 1 beef broth bouillon cube.
Cover the pot again and simmer the meat for 30 minutes to an hour until it gets tender.
Note: You can add more water if necessary.
Add the saba slice and corn. Then add potatoes if desired. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste, stir, and cook for 5 minutes.
Add the cabbage, pechay, and spring onion, cover again, and cook for 3 minutes or until the vegetables are soft but not overcooked.
Check it, taste it and adjust as necessary. Turn off the heat and transfer it to a serving dish.
Serve warm and enjoy.
