Ingredients
1/2kg Shrimps (skinned and cleaned)
For the batter
1cup all-purpose Flour
1/4tsp Salt
1/4tsp Pepper
1 Egg yoke
Water
1/2cup Cornstarch
Cooking oil (for frying)
For the sauce
3tbsp Cooking oil (for sauteing)
2tbsp Ginger (minced)
4tbsp Garlic (minced)
1large White onion (cubes)
1 Capsicums or large Bell pepper (cubes)
1 Green bell pepper (cubes)
1small can Pineapple (chunks)
3tbsp Ketchup
2tbsp Soy sauce
2tbsp White sugar (add more as needed)
Slurry (1 tbsp. Cornstarch dissolves in 2 tbsp. of water)
1-2tbsp Cane vinegar
Instructions
Preparation:
Clean the shrimps. Peel and devein them. Set it aside.
Peel, mince, and cube the spices needed for the recipe.
In a small bowl, make the batter by combining all-purpose flour, egg yolk, salt, ground black pepper, and water. Stir until the desired consistency is reached.
Tips: Water should be added gradually until consistency is reached.
Dredge the shrimp in cornstarch, then dip them in the batter mixture and fry them.
Frying:
In a wok or skillet over medium-high heat, heat enough cooking oil to fry the shrimp.
Fry the shrimp until it turns golden brown and crisp. Then remove from the wok and set aside.
