Description
This crispy fried onion rings recipe is a great snack and is considered a fast food favorite. Sliced onions are dipped in a batter, coated with breadcrumbs, and fried until crisp. It’s quick and easy to make and tastes so good.
Ingredients
1large onion (sliced into 1/4 inch pieces)
1/2cup all purpose flour
1/2cup cornstarch
1tsp paprika powder
1tsp onion powder
1tsp salt
1/4tsp ground black pepper
1cup cold sparkling water
3pc sliced bread or plain breadcrumbs (for coating)
cooking oil (fo fry)
Instructions
Slice the onion into rings around ¼ inch pieces and set apart.
Turn the sliced bread into crumbs using the blender. Note: You can use plain breadcrumbs instead of sliced bread.
In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, and salt. Gradually add cold water until the batter consistency reaches
Dip the onion rings into the batter and coat them with the breadcrumbs. Let it set for a minute.
In a pan, heat cooking oil over low to medium heat.
Fry the coated onion rings for 1 to 2 minutes. Fry it in batches. Wait until it turns golden in color and crisp.
Remove from the heat and pat dry with a paper towel to remove any excess oil.
