  1. Slice the onion into rings around ¼ inch pieces and set apart.

  2. Turn the sliced bread into crumbs using the blender. Note: You can use plain breadcrumbs instead of sliced bread.

  3. In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, and salt. Gradually add cold water until the batter consistency reaches

  4. Dip the onion rings into the batter and coat them with the breadcrumbs. Let it set for a minute.

  5. In a pan, heat cooking oil over low to medium heat.

  6. Fry the coated onion rings for 1 to 2 minutes. Fry it in batches. Wait until it turns golden in color and crisp.

  7. Remove from the heat and pat dry with a paper towel to remove any excess oil.
