Ingredients
1bch kangkong or water spinach (stalks cut about 1.5 inch, leaves separated)
1head garlic (chopped)
1 onion (chopped)
4tbsp soy sauce
2tbsp cane vinegar
3tbsp cooking oil
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
sugar to taste
water (optional)
Instructions
Preparation:
Separate the kangkong leaves from the stalk, then cut the young stalk approximately 1.5 inches long. Discard the older stalks. Then, thoroughly wash and drain.
Peeled and chopped the spices needed.
Cooking:
In a pan, heat the oil over a medium-high flame. Put the garlic in, then cook until the color changes to golden brown.
Turn the flame down low. Then take out half of the browned garlic from the pan and place it in a clean bowl. Set aside for later use as a garnish.
Add the chopped onion and saute until translucent and soft.
Pour in the soy sauce and vinegar. Allow the liquid to boil. Then add kangkong stalks and cook for a few minutes until a bit soft.
Add the kangkong leaves. Stir, cover the pan and continue cooking for about 1 minute.
Note: Add water if needed.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the taste accordingly.
Note: Add sugar if desired.
Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with the toasted garlic set aside earlier.
