Ingredients

Instructions

Preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and water and knead until it comes together in a soft, smooth, pliable dough.

  2. Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of dough, shape it into a ball, and then flatten it into an oval with your palms that is about ¼ inches thick.

  3. Combine sugar and roasted sesame seeds, and then mix well. Set it aside for a while.

Cooking:

  1. Boil water in a cooking pot, then drop each palitaw and cook until the palitaw floats to the surface. Repeat until you’ve cooked all of the rice cakes.

  2. Scoop the cooked palitaw, using a slotted spoon, out of the boiling water and set it aside, allowing the water to drip. Space them evenly so they don’t stick together.

  3. Roll the rice cake in grated coconut before coating it with the sugar-sesame seed mixture.

  4. Place in a serving dish, then serve. Share and enjoy the food!
