Ingredients

Instructions

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, combine the vinegar, soy sauce, half of the garlic, half of the onion, peppercorns, and bay leaves.

  2. Add the pork chops and soak them in a liquid mixture. Keep it in a sealed plastic bag or closed plastic container.

  3. Marinate for at least 1 hour, but overnight is better. If it takes longer than an hour to cook, it is highly recommended to refrigerate.

  4. To cook, separate the meat from the marinated liquid mixture.

Cooking Steps:

  1. In a large deep pan, heat the cooking oil over a medium flame.

  2. Pan-fry the pork chops one side at a time for 3 minutes, or until one side turns golden brown. Flip over the meat and pan-fry the other side.

  3. Put in the remaining onion, cook until soft, then add the remaining garlic. Continue to cook until the garlic is seared with the meat.

  4. Pour in the marinade liquid with the spices and bring to a soft boil for 2 minutes. Add water and re-boil the liquid.

  5. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 40 minutes, or until the meat is tender enough and the liquid reduces by half.

Note: You can add more water if needed until the meat gets tender. It depends on the thickness and quality of the meat you use.
  6. Taste it and add salt if needed. You can add salt according to your preference.

  7. Stir and simmer for 2 minutes, or until the desired sauce is reached.

  8. Turn the heat off and transfer to a serving dish. Serve warm with a plate of warm rice. Enjoy!
