Instructions
Gather all the ingredients needed for the recipe.
Peel and mince the spices, and peel and grate the carrot.
To make the meatballs, combine all of the meatball ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well.
Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and form it into a small ball shape. Repeat the process until the mixture is completely consumed. Set it aside.
Heat cooking oil in a deep pan or pot. Over medium heat, lightly fry the meatballs or cook them until they are lightly browned. Remove the meatball from the heat. Set it aside.
In the same pan or pot with the remaining oil, saute the onion until soft, then add the garlic and saute until aromatic.
Put back the meat ball, add water or broth, and bring the liquid to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low, add the bouillon cubes (any flavor: pork, chicken, or beef). Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
Add the misua (Chinese salted wheat noodles) and patola. Stir in fish sauce and ground black pepper to taste. Cover again and cook for another 5 minutes.
Note: Misua noodles are somewhat salty compared to other noodles.Check it, stir it, taste it, and adjust as necessary. Turn off the heat and transfer to a serving bowl.
Garnish with thinly chopped green onions, and serve hot. Enjoy!
