Preparation:
Prepare the vegetable ingredients, like potatoes and carrots, then dice them. Then cube the bell pepper and chop the garlic and onion.
Cooking:
In a pot or wok, heat vegetable oil over a medium-low flame. Add the garlic, saute for a few seconds, and then add the onion, saute until softened.
Add the ground pork, season with a teaspoon of salt, and cook for 5 minutes, or until the color changes to a light brown and the fat comes out of the meat.
Stir in the tomato sauce, pour in the water, add the broth cube and bay leaves. And let it boil and simmer for about 15 minutes.
Put the potatoes and carrot cubes in, then add the cooked green peas and stir. Cover again and simmer for another 5 minutes or longer until the vegetable is tender enough but not overcooked.
Season with salt and ground black pepper, to taste.
Note: If you want the dish a bit sweeter, add sugar (optional).Stir and continue cooking for a couple of minutes. Adjust the taste as necessary before serving.
