Clean tahong (mussels) by soaking them in water for about 20 minutes.
In a pan, heat cooking oil and butter over low-medium heat.
Sauté minced garlic, onion and ginger until translucent and fragrant.
Add tahong (mussels) and cook until the shells are opened.
Add chili garlic sauce, liquid seasoning and chopped red chili. Gently stir.
Season it with salt, sugar to taste, pepper powder to taste. At this point, you can add the optional ingredient, Sriracha sauce, or UFC hot sauce. Gently mix.
Remove it from the heat and transfer it to a serving bowl. This is best served with warm rice.
