Adobong okra (lady’s fingers) with pork is a simple and easy recipe to make and tastes delicious. Adobo is a well-known delicious Filipino dish. You can cook adobo using chicken, pork, or vegetables. In this recipe, we will be using okra for adobo paired with pork meat. It’s so tasty and crunchy. Adding red chili will give it a spicy flavour. But if you don’t like spicy tastes, leave out the red chili.

  1. Gather all the ingredients needed. Peel, cut, and slice the vegetables and spices for the recipe.

  2. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil over low to medium heat.

  3. Saute the sliced garlic for a few seconds. Add the sliced onion and saute until soft.

  4. Add the ground pork. Saute with the spices for a few minutes or until the color changes to a light brown then season with ground black pepper to taste, and stir.

  5. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Bring to a soft boil, then lower the heat to low.

  6. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes, then add okra (lady’s finger).

  7. Add 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce and 1 to 2 tablespoons of cooking wine. Stir and adjust the heat to medium-low.

  8. Cover again and cook for 3 minutes, or until the vegetables are firm but not overcooked.

  9. Add the sliced red chili, stir, and keep cooking for a few minutes.

    Note: Red chili is an optional ingredient; add it if desired.
  10. Taste it and adjust as necessary. Remove from the heat and transfer to a serving plate.
