Preparation:
Wash and cut the beef meat into cubes or pieces. Set aside.
Peel off the skin of the necessary vegetables and spices, chop and cut them into pieces.
Cooking:
In a pan or wok, heat up 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil, add the garlic, saute until aromatic, then add the minced onion and saute.
Add the beef cubes, stir and cook for 2 or more minutes until the color changes. Then pour in beef broth, add salt (about ½ tbsp.), and bay leaves. Let it boil and simmer until the beef becomes tender.
Note: Tenderizing the beef meat can take up to more than an hour. It depends on the quality of the meat that you will use. Add more water as needed.When the beef meat is tender enough, add carrots, potatoes, celery ,salt, and ground black pepper. Then add sugar to balance the taste. Or you may use seasoning granules to taste (optional). Stir and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Mix the 1 tbsp. cornstarch with 2 tbsp. water (slurry). When about to cook, pour in the slurry, stir and cook for a minute more.
Remove from the heat and place in a serving bowl.
Garnish with chopped parsley (optional) then serve. Share and enjoy the food.
