Dinengdeng recipe with bangus (milkfish). This dish is a famous Ilocano recipe from a region in the Philippines. Another name for the dish is Abraw o Inabraw. It’s cooked with several vegetables that are commonly grown in backyards. Plenty of Filipino dishes are quite similar to dinengding, like laswa, bulanglang, and, of course, the law-oy or utan bisaya. Dinengdeng mainly use bagoong isda; in Visayas, we call it ginamos, and it gives a lovely flavor to the dish.
