  1. Clean the fish fillet, pat-dry and cut it into chunky strips, then put it in a bowl.

  2. Add calamansi or lemon juice, salt, and black pepper powder, then mix it well. Marinate it for 10 minutes or more.

  3. In a shallow dish, combine flour, cornstarch, onion powder, salt and paprika powder.

  4. In a separate shallow dish, crack a fresh egg and beat it well.

  5. Dredge the marinated fish in the powder mixture, dip it into the beaten egg, and coat it with breadcrumbs. Repeat this process until all are finished.

  6. Pre-heat enough cooking oil to fry in medium to high heat. Deep fry the fish until it turns golden brown.
