The steamed eggless puto pandan is the specialty. It's simple to make and uses heated water from pandan leaves, making it nutritious and aromatic. You can also top it with sliced salted egg, cheddar slices, or whatever else you desire. Try this easy recipe and have some fun with it.

  1. In a pot, boil pandan leaves with 2 cups of water for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool. Mix the pandan water to the dissolved skim milk.

  2. Combine cake flour, baking powder, sugar and salt then add pandan and skim milk liquid mixture, vanilla extract or essence and green food color. Mix well until well blended.

  3. Scoop mixture into cupcake liners about 2/3’s full. Steam for 15-20 minutes.

    Use low steam if you don’t want it to break on top. Cover with cloth so the steam will not drop on the puto cake.
  4. Then transfer in a cooling rack to cool completely before serving. Enjoy eating!
